I was lying in bed the other morning and I heard the spirit of the Lord speak to me saying, “It’s not how you start – it’s how you finish”. And then I heard God say, “I want you to finish WELL!”
In light of everything that has been happening the last few days it seems like things are spiraling out of control. But GOD IS IN CONTROL! When the enemy comes in like a flood – the SPIRIT OF THE LORD WILL RAISE UP A STANDARD AGAINST HIM!
On Friday morning I was listening to the news when I heard about the horrible catastrophe at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. When 
a deranged young man forced his way into the school and killed 20 elementary school children (most of them were six years old) and six adults including the principal. We all shook our heads and wondered when this will end.
I have been involved with many programs over the last several years about some of these school shootings with my good friend, Dr. Bruce Porter, who was the pastor of the first victim at Columbine High School – Rachel Scott. In fact, the first program I ever did on my program “Now is the Time” was about the Columbine School Shootings! Over the years as we saw these catastrophes accumulate I continued to interview Bruce about them. These include the attack on the Twin Towers (911), The Amish Shootings, the attack on the school in Beslan, Russia, and the Red Lake Minnesota shootings. Bruce was there at all of these events to offer his prayers and condolences.
The Lord is Saying to Us to Stay the Course
As we finish out this year the Lord is saying to us to “Stay the Course”. The “Winds of Change” are here and we are going to see the Lord bring forth recovery and restitution to all that was lost.
It’s interesting to see what has transpired on the east coast the last month. First of all Hurricane Sandy hits the East Coast and causes much devastation. And now, a school by the name of “Sandy Hook” elementary in a town named “New Town” is hit by one of the worst acts of violence in years. I don’t believe that this is a coincidence.
The meaning of the name Sandy is: “defender of men, protector of mankind”.
We know that the Bible says that the devil comes to “Steal, Kill and Destroy”.
But God has come to give us Life and to give it to us IN ABUNDANCE.
God is Our Defender and Protector
When the storms are coming at us from all around us – just know that God is going to be our defender and our protector. These young lives at Sandy Hook Elementary will not be in vain. Their blood is crying out and God is responding.
They are in heaven with the Lord and praising God! But there is a NEW WAVE OF GOD which is springing forth in the midst of these storms and tragedies. God is with us! We will not despair!
This wave will bring in the next great harvest. Many sons and daughters of the kingdom will come into the glory during the NEXT NEW WAVE.
Don’t look back at where we started from. Look at the finish line and know that there is a crown waiting for you. A new move which will bring forth many countless sons and daughters will be ushered in for this season.
The light is always the brightest during the darkness. As the world mourns the loss of these young precious souls in New Town….let us remember that Jesus will be the light the will shine in the darkness.
2013 will be an incredible year for the Kingdom of God. And even as Abraham Lincoln brought forth the 13th amendment …. Freeing of slaves…so let us realize that God is bringing forth freedom to those in captivity. He is bringing the light of Jesus to a lost world.
It’s during times like this that the world realizes that it’s all about families that matters. God is our Father and He is bringing forth a move of THE FATHERS.
He is going to reach a lost world with the light of His beloved Son JESUS. Let’s press on toward the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. The NEW WAVE OF THE LORD IS HERE!
So true Meri. Several months ago, as I was re-reading the gospels focusing on those things that Jesus had said, the Lord impressed upon me that that is what He is really going to be looking at when He returns. How many times did He say, “The kingdom of Heaven is like….”, and then described the event of a master leaving on a trip, and giving his servants/slaves tasks to perform. When the master returned, and all of the “Welcome Home” activities were completed, he got down to the real business. Revelation 22:12 says…”And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. ” Notice, it does not say, …as his work was, although He is fully aware of it all. He even gave some churches warnings and space to repent and do their “first works” or return to their “first love”. We all have that opportunity…let us finish strong for the Kingdom of the Lord!!! Let it be that He will be able to say to us, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” That’s really the bottom line.
Interesting that the name of the School, Sandy Hook had the word Hook. Of course, I’m thinking of the movie, ‘Hook’. He came through bitterness at parents to turn the hearts of the children against authority and so Hook them into destructive thinking, behaviours, lifestyles. His scheme was to cause the children to love Hook and become his pirates..His army. It’s the day of ‘The Lost Boys.to be won by the family of God to come home, back to their heavenly Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and the family that he has for each one.
